Trauma Therapy in Minneapolis, MN & Online — ART for Lasting Healing
You don’t have to keep reliving the past to heal from it
Trauma does not always look the way people expect.
Sometimes it looks like:
Shutting down in conversations you can't explain.
Like overreacting to something small and then feeling ashamed.
Like not being able to fully relax — ever.
Like relationships that feel like they are always on the edge of falling apart.
At Reflective Pathways in Osseo, MN, I specialize in trauma therapy for women navigating these exact experiences. Using Accelerated Resolution Therapy, one of the top evidence-based trauma modalities available, I help clients in the Minneapolis area process what happened and genuinely move forward, not just cope.
You find yourself…
Overthinking, replaying conversations, or worrying about everything that could go wrong. Even though people see you as capable and put-together, inside you feel restless, exhausted, or on the verge of burnout. Anxiety can make it hard to slow down, sleep, or feel at peace in your own skin.

Trauma FAQs

Trauma therapy helps you safely process experiences that overwhelmed your nervous system. In my approach, we use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), somatic work, and parts-based healing (IFS) to help your brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel charged or intrusive. You don’t have to retell your story in detail. We focus on calming the body, reducing triggers, and helping you feel grounded, clear, and connected again.

Both EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) are evidence-based trauma therapies that help the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or “stuck.” They are structured, research-supported approaches that go beyond talk therapy.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements) to help your brain process traumatic experiences and reduce emotional intensity. It allows you to revisit memories in a contained way while your nervous system learns that the experience is no longer happening in the present.
ART also uses eye movements but often moves more quickly and includes a technique called voluntary image replacement, where distressing images can be shifted into more adaptive ones. Many clients appreciate that ART can feel direct and efficient while still being deeply effective.
Both EMDR and ART are powerful trauma treatments. The best approach depends on your history, nervous system, and goals. In our work together, we’ll determine which method fits you best — whether that’s ART, or a combination of other modalities within a structured trauma therapy intensive in Minneapolis.

This depends on your goals. Weekly trauma therapy can take several months, but ART intensives shorten the timeline significantly. Many clients experience major shifts in 1–3 days of focused work because we target the root of the trauma directly. You can continue with weekly sessions afterward if you want deeper integration.

Many adults who experienced neglect, emotional immaturity from caregivers, or chronic stress show signs of unresolved trauma — even if they don’t remember a “big event.” Signs include chronic anxiety, emotional numbness, feeling permanently “on guard,” difficulty trusting others, perfectionism, people-pleasing, persistent shame or self-criticism, difficulty setting boundaries, or recurring stress reactions to relationship or work triggers. Therapy helps you identify these patterns and offers a path to healing.

I’m honored to support you on your healing journey. We’ll begin with a free 20-minute consultation to make sure we genuinely feel like a good fit. A strong therapeutic connection is one of the most important factors in meaningful progress, and if either of us feels that another provider would be a better match, I’m always happy to offer referrals. Your comfort, safety, and clarity matter here.
