Meet Melissa, LPCC

Licensed Counselor | Trauma & Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Therapist. Specializing in Complex Trauma, Addiction, and Attachment Trauma

You've landed here because you’re ready for change and seeking a way to feel more at peace within yourself.

With over 14 years of experience in mental health, I specialize in trauma therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Intensives in Minnesota. My work is focused, depth-oriented, and designed to create meaningful change — not just insight, but relief.

I integrate Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy, and Polyvagal-informed practices to help high-functioning adults break free from anxiety, perfectionism, compulsive coping patterns, and relational pain.

This work is deeply personal to me. I understand what it’s like to appear strong and capable on the outside while carrying invisible weight on the inside. Many of my clients are successful, driven, and responsible — yet internally exhausted.

In our work together, clients often describe feeling:
• Lighter
• More grounded
• Less reactive
• More confident in their decisions
• Finally able to trust themselves

My goal isn’t just symptom reduction. It’s helping you reclaim your clarity, self-trust, and emotional freedom.

I became the therapist I wish more high-functioning women had access to.

During college at North Dakota State University, I experienced firsthand what triangulation and emotional over-responsibility feel like inside a family system.

I learned how quickly capable daughters become emotional stabilizers.

Later, I earned my graduate degree at St. Cloud State University and worked in crisis care, addiction treatment, intensive outpatient, and trauma-informed leadership roles.

Across settings, one pattern was clear:

The most competent women were often the most internally burdened.

They didn’t lack intelligence.
They lacked space to stop performing strength.

So I built something different.

Today, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota, I specialize exclusively in trauma and attachment intensives for high-functioning women ready for measurable change.

Not endless processing.
Not maintenance therapy.
Transformation.

How Is Therapy Different With Me?

Therapy with me is structured, intentional, and trauma-informed — without feeling clinical or cold.

Here’s what makes my approach different:

We don’t stay stuck in storytelling. While your story matters, we focus on resolving what’s still emotionally activated — not rehashing pain indefinitely.
We work with the nervous system. Trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. You’ll learn how to regulate, not just understand.
We move efficiently. Through ART Intensives, meaningful shifts can happen in days rather than years of weekly sessions.
We address the root. Whether it shows up as anxiety, addiction, perfectionism, or relational patterns, we go deeper than surface coping strategies.

This is therapy for people who are ready to do real work and want tangible change.

Am I the Right Therapist Fit for You?

    • You are high-functioning but internally overwhelmed

    • You struggle with complex trauma, attachment wounds, or addiction

    • You intellectualize your emotions but still feel stuck

    • You want structured, depth-focused therapy

    • You are ready for change — even if it feels uncomfortable

    • You are looking primarily for casual, open-ended talk therapy

    • You prefer surface-level coping strategies without deeper processing

    • You are not ready to explore trauma or underlying attachment patterns

    • You grew up in a home with emotional neglect, substance use, or instability

    • You learned to be “the strong one” early in life

    • You mirror others and struggle to identify your own needs

    • You manage stress through overworking, control, or numbing behaviors

    • You want a therapist who balances warmth with directness

My Approach

Healing takes more than insight alone.

I use evidence-based, trauma-informed methods that help you process stored emotional pain, regulate your nervous system, and create lasting change.

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART): Reprocessing distressing memories to reduce symptoms quickly.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Understanding protective parts, softening inner critics, and healing wounded parts of self.

  • Somatic Therapy & Polyvagal-Informed Work: Supporting nervous system regulation so you can feel calmer and more connected.

  • Attachment-Focused Therapy: Exploring how early patterns shape current relationships and self-worth.

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I will challenge you when needed — but always with respect and care.
