If you've been searching for trauma therapy in Georgia and keep hitting waitlists, limited specialists, or therapists who don't quite fit what you're looking for, you're not alone. Quality trauma therapy is genuinely hard to find in many parts of Georgia, and even in Atlanta, the right specialist for complex trauma, high-functioning anxiety, or the intersection of trauma and addiction can take months to locate.
The good news is that licensed virtual trauma therapy has changed this picture significantly. As a licensed therapist now practicing in Georgia through the Counseling Compact, I offer virtual trauma therapy sessions to Georgia residents using the same evidence-based approaches — Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic nervous system work, and the FLASH technique for complex trauma- that I use with clients in person in Minnesota.
What Virtual Trauma Therapy in Georgia Actually Looks Like
Virtual trauma therapy is not a lesser version of in-person work. For many clients, working from their own space- their home office, their living room, wherever they feel most settled- supports deeper processing than a clinical office environment. The nervous system is already regulated and in a familiar place, and the work can go somewhere real without the commute, the waiting room, or logistical friction.
Sessions are conducted via secure HIPAA-compliant video. You need a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera. That's it. Everything else- the evidence-based trauma processing, nervous system regulation, and IFS parts work- translates fully to the virtual format.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) in particular adapts well to telehealth. The bilateral eye movements central to ART can be facilitated effectively through a screen, and many clients report the same quality of shift in virtual sessions as in person.
Who This Is For — Georgia Clients
Virtual trauma therapy at Reflective Pathways is designed for Georgia adults who are carrying one or more of the following:
Complex or chronic trauma from childhood — emotional neglect, growing up with a narcissistic or emotionally immature parent, relational trauma that shaped how you move through every relationship you've had since.
PTSD or trauma that hasn't fully responded to previous therapy — you've done the work, you have the insight, and something in your body still hasn't gotten the message.
High-functioning anxiety — you look composed and capable from the outside and feel like you're running a constant internal fire alarm. You've managed it for years, and you're exhausted by the effort.
Trauma and addiction — the two almost always intersect, and treating one without the other rarely produces lasting change.
Attachment wounds and relational trauma — patterns that keep showing up in your relationships despite your best efforts and genuine self-awareness.
If you're in Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Marietta, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, or anywhere else in Georgia — virtual sessions are available statewide.
Why ART and IFS for Trauma in Georgia
Accelerated Resolution Therapy is one of the fastest-growing evidence-based trauma treatments in the country — and one of the hardest to find a qualified practitioner for. I hold Advanced ART Certification, IFS training, and FLASH technique training for complex trauma, so I bring a specific toolkit to trauma work that most therapists—even excellent ones—don't have access to.
ART uses bilateral eye movements and voluntary image replacement to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories. You don't have to retell the story in detail. You don't have to relive it. Your nervous system does the reprocessing while you stay regulated. For many clients, particularly those who have dreaded "having to go back through it all" in therapy, ART is the first approach that feels tolerable and produces real results.
IFS (Internal Family Systems) adds the relational layer — working with the protective parts of your internal system that developed in response to early experiences. The hyperindependent part. The inner critic. The part that shuts down when intimacy gets close. Understanding what those parts are protecting and giving them something better is where lasting change happens.
Deep Healing Sessions — Georgia Intensive Option
For Georgia clients ready for focused, accelerated work rather than ongoing weekly sessions, I also offer Deep Healing Sessions — trauma intensives in a 1-3 day format conducted virtually.
Rather than pacing your healing around a weekly 50-minute slot, a Deep Healing Session gives your nervous system uninterrupted time to actually complete the processing it keeps starting and stopping. Most clients reach what would take months of weekly therapy in a few days.
Georgia clients have two options for intensives:
Virtual Deep Healing Sessions — conducted entirely via secure video from your home in Georgia. Three days of focused, intensive trauma processing without leaving your state.
In-Person Intensive Retreat in Minnesota — fly to Minneapolis, spend 1-3 days doing intensive trauma work at my Osseo office, and make it a full retreat experience. Minnesota in fall and spring is beautiful, and many clients build a few days of self-care around the intensive — staying somewhere comfortable, visiting the lakes, decompressing between sessions. The combination of therapeutic depth and genuine retreat is hard to find anywhere.
Getting Started — Georgia Trauma Therapy
The first step is a free 20-minute consultation call. We'll talk about what you're carrying, what you've already tried, and whether virtual trauma therapy or a Deep Healing Session intensive is the right fit for where you are right now.
No commitment required, no pressure. Just a conversation to see if this works and this format makes sense for you.
